Sinner's Prayer-Your personal invitation to a new LIFE :)

11/22/2015

Hello to you, loyal readers and all the first time guests alike! :) Welcome!
I wanted to post a sinner's prayer for anyone who comes across this blog that may feel a strong sense of personal connection with the messages about getting to know Christ in a personal relationship. Jesus asked us to be fisher's of men and I don't want to let any opportunity to start this amazing journey go to waste!! So if you want your soul to be saved and you feel a nudge in your heart to see what this man Jesus is all about boy do I have a prayer for you! :)

-“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.”
‭‭John‬ ‭3:16-17‬ ‭NIV

Lord, I'm not a perfect person and I don't have all the answers for my life. I humble myself before you and ask that you will cleanse me from the crown of my head to the soles of my feet. I ask for your forgiveness of all my sins known and unknown. I believe your son died for my sins and rose again on the third day and I want Jesus to come into my life and take complete control. I confess with my mouth that I need Jesus to be my Lord & personal savior. Thank you for this new life Father, teach me how to give you ALL the GLORY, HONOR, and PRAISE. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.

If you have repeated this prayer and believe in your heart Jesus is in control of your life now please find a Holy Bible based church home and learn more about Jesus! He came to give us LIFE and give it to us more abundantly! Happy Thanksgiving!

“But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.”-
‭‭2 Peter‬ ‭3:8-9‬ ‭NIV

5 of my favorite things for Back to School

Hey ya'll! It is definitely that time again. School is already back in session for some and for the rest of us Monday marks the start of a new fall semester. If your schedule looks anything like mine, you have your work cut out for you and I am writing this blog post in order to share with you some of the essential items and routines I partake in around this time to set myself up for a smooth start and ultimately success overall in school.

1. Energy Booster:
I recently tried this line of fruit juice smoothies and I really enjoyed the way they taste and the consistency of the drink overall. It isn't too thick and if you are a berry lover this flavor contains blueberries and blackberries, but the fruit doesn't stop there it also includes banana, green apple, and lemon. I have a hard time getting myself to eat breakfast most mornings which I have found to be a bad habit that I've picked up over the years and I pay for it when I start to feel a little sluggish in the morning. My son eats breakfast at daycare and I'm usually just grabbing something to eat for lunch totally disregarding breakfast because I'm not hungry or I'm trying to make sure I get where I need to be on time. I need a kick start so I am going to test this juice out as an on the go substitute. Along with this juice I have been working out at 5:30am three days out of the week and I actually feel much more alert and refreshed in the afternoons. I'm really interested to see whether or not i notice an increase in my energy throughout the day while I'm on campus by drinking this early in my morning along with getting the appropriate amount of sleep the night before.

2. Price Matching at the Book Store:
Books are super expensive and it seems as though the upper level course books become more and more expensive! Science majors, I'm sure you can agree science books are usually really heavy in weight and pretty pricey for your pockets. However, there are some book stores that offer PRICE MATCHING to save the day. If you live an area where there is a Bill's bookstore, you can search for your book online, present the ONLINE RENT or BUY PRICE to the cashier and Bill's will match the online price and BEAT it by 10%! You really can't go wrong with that because you don't have to wait for the books to arrive in the mail and you get a better price in person. You may not live near a Bill's Bookstore but you should definitely inquire about price matching at your local bookstore. If your bookstore does not offer price matching and you aren't aware of the savings you can find online I definitely recommend checking into websites such as Chegg.com or even Amazon if you have a couple of days to spare and can afford to wait for the book to arrive in the mail.

3. Spiritual Food:
This part is the most important of my favorite things list. School can get overwhelming and you can get burned out quick! You eat food to nourish your body and you also should feast on the Word of God to nourish your spirit. I've selected a few scriptures below that I read to keep me reminded about Who pushes me through school and sustains my spiritual stamina to keep achieving ALL that He has already set out for me to accomplish.

Deuteronomy 28:14 NLT -"The LORD will make you the head and not the tail, and you only will be above, and you will not be underneath, if you listen to the commandments of the LORD your God, which I charge you today, to observe them carefully,"

Psalm 1:1-3 NLT -"How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, Nor stand in the path of sinners, Nor sit in the seat of scoffers! But his delight is in the law of the LORD, And in His law he meditates day and night. He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, Which yields its fruit in its season, And its leaf does not wither; And in whatever he does, he prospers."

Proverbs 16:1-3 AMP -"The plans of the mind and orderly thinking belong to man, but from the Lord comes the [wise] answer of the tongue. 2 All the ways of a man are pure in his own eyes, but the Lord weighs the spirits (the thoughts and intents of the heart). 3 Roll your works upon the Lord [commit and trust them wholly to Him; He will cause your thoughts to become agreeable to His will, and] so shall your plans be established and succeed."

Psalm 37:34 AMP -"Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He will give you the desires and secret petitions of your heart."

James 4:10 AMP -"Humble yourselves [feeling very insignificant] in the presence of the Lord, and He will exalt you [He will lift you up and make your lives significant]."

1 Corinthians 2:9 - "But, on the contrary, as the Scripture says, What eye has not seen and ear has not heard and has not entered into the heart of man, [all that] God has prepared (made and keeps ready) for those who love Him [[a]who hold Him in affectionate reverence, promptly obeying Him and gratefully recognizing the benefits He has bestowed]."

4. Daily Planner/Organizer
-This is one is self explanatory. I absolutely love my planner, I fill up the pages with all of my To-Do's for school and home. If your professor is verbally giving you instructions about an assignment, due dates, or special instructions you can use your planner as a Go-To journal that keeps all of your random thoughts, organized ideas, and quickly approaching deadlines. Use your planner! It will help you stay on track and keep your already busy life somewhat organized.

5. Ninja Turtle Underwear :)
-If you are following my blog on Instagram then you are already aware of how excited my son is about wearing big boy underwear and NOT pull-ups anymore (except at night). I've heard in the past that boys take a little longer to learn than girls but honestly I believe it just depends on the child. I actually found it much easier to teach him how to potty train by reminding him to use the bathroom every hour (even if he didn't have to go) and let him walk around naked while we are at home. Now I don't have to remind him as frequently and it was definitely a pleasant surprise to hear him using the potty when he needed to without being told. :)

What are some of your favorite items or routines that you do to get back into the momentum for the approaching school semester? I'd love to hear about it in the comments!

PictureWhen you're happy to see your mom after class and you're ready to go!
What's Up ya'll? Hopefully you've had a good summer. Maybe you got the chance to go to a cook-out, family reunion, went on vacation, or just enjoyed catching up with a few good friends.

Jumping straight into this post I want to talk about a word I noticed on the internet a little while back called GODFIDENCE. When following God's will for your life and using your talents to advance the Kingdom of God you WILL NEED... GODFIDENCE. Confidence in God will sustain you during the storms and preserve you in ALL your ways and when you walk through the fire, you will not be burned or scorched (hence the phrase people use once they have endured a storm or test--- "I'm so glad I don't look like what I've been through") Psalm 91:11 & Isaiah 43:2. GODFIDENCE freely gives me the grace to make mistakes, be free from wordly judgment, be myself, love deeper, forgive more freely, enjoy my life no matter the season, and just be free. The life He planned for us, He called it a GOOD LIFE, Ephesians 2:8-10. I realized my GODFIDENCE grows when I humble myself and admit that "I don't know...(insert your issue here)". I'm comforted to know that I don't have to know, and I feel elated because God does know ALL THINGS. If you allow Him to help you slay those giants and move those mountains in your life, trust me you will realize that your level of GODFIDENCE will be on FLEEK lol! Romans 15:13.

Promotion comes from God, He elevates you into new places generally after you have been patient and allowed Him to change you. Every new level of elevation requires a new and more improved you, GODFIDENCE gives you the grace to embrace all that you can and more importantly bring about change. How has your
heart been lately? Are you allowing the cold, cruel world to steal your joy and turn you bitter? Or do your thoughts push you into dark depressing places that cause you not to feel like yourself and steal your hope for a better outcome? First of all, I want you to know and remember that God makes ALL things NEW including Y O U! Revelation 21:5. In an ever changing world we all need someone consistent and greater than ourselves to believe in. We cannot rush the plans of God however, with GODFIDENCE you can rest assured that you will NOT die, you WON'T miss out, you WON'T be overlooked, and His blessing WILL NOT delay! Habakkuk 2:3

Your GODFIDENCE grows when you read God's word, that is His love letter to us. It is very important to chose a bible translation that you can understand easily this simple selection will cause you to actually want to read and study what God is telling us. Proverbs 4:7 (I read the Amplified most times but the NIV and NLV work for me also.) Reading your bible isn't a gift we give to God but instead it is where we learn about His limitless gifts He is yearning to bless us with. In His word is where you learn about His character and His nature. In His love letter I experience His loving kindness and His loving correction. In His love letter to us I can build myself up and free myself from doubt, worry, and fear. Little by little His word will begin to take root in your heart and you will become like a tree planted firmly in His love. When you know that God loves you no matter what and that He has equipped you with all you need to win in life then you realize that you are on the The Winning Team and your GODFIDENCE can't be conquered.

P.S. -
Here is a friendly challenge for you, spend more time getting to know God personally and THANKING God than you do ASKING God. What does GODFIDENCE mean to you? How has your confidence in God been working for you? Inspire us down below in the comment section. I love hearing from you!

Overwhelmed? ...Enter into God's REST

Hey ya'll!!! :)

Lately God has been dealing with me about my plans versus His will and wanting to hurry His process along. He has also been teaching me about how to peacefully deal with a really difficult subject- "LOSS". No one ever wants to lose or have something taken away from them. We aren't able to see days or years into the future we are only able to see what is happening as it unfolds before us in the present moment (unless you have the gift of interpreting dreams, but majority of us don't). We actually experience, taste, and live life in the present tense. The future as well as the past, occur only in our mind. As creatures of habit we tend to constantly think about what is next for us or how can we reach the next level of happiness or progression. Then there are the reoccurring thoughts about the past that plague our minds such as, "I could have done this better" or "if I would have made a certain decision... then my life would be different". When you are taking it upon yourself to worry about events passed or the things to come that is when you feel overwhelmed, stressed out, busy, or you eventually realize that you are stretching yourself too thin. Now, I don't want you to misunderstand me I absolutely believe in making plans and setting goals for yourself because I believe that you should have a vision for the direction in which you want your life to go. I also believe that your goals and plans should be bigger than what you yourself can attain with your own strength and capabilities. However, once you devise a plan you have to release it into God's perfect will. There are times when I feel as if I am on a roll, my plans are running smoothly, I'm working hard to intentionally "live my life on purpose" by putting in a little more effort each day than I did the day before and then, BAM! My world comes to a screeching hault and difficult situations arise that are totally unexpected, very inconvenient and temporarily disrupt your flow causing you to realize that you really aren't the one in control. Proverbs 19:21 tells us that, "
Many are the plans in a person's heart, but it is the LORD's purpose that prevails." Period. This is where God's gift of rest sustains us. When we accept God's perfect and timely purpose above our own personal or selfish desires that is when our plans become those of The Lord's and come hell or high water we as His children can rest in peace, joy, and contentment. God's rest is a spiritual blessing that He gives to us graciously, he encourages us to partake in His rest because He cares for us and ultimately whatever you are battling is not your fight but His to win (because He ALWAYS WINS) if we choose to rest and let His plans prevail and do the work for us. It can be quite difficult to wait on God to fulfill His promise but it's only difficult because you are still conjuring up a plan in your mind on how to be the one to solve your problem. No, when you work God rests and when you rest God begins performing His mighty works. I can tell you confidently that God makes no mistakes and He never will. If you know by faith that God has given you an assignment to complete or you are believing in a specific promise from His word then you can rest confidently knowing that Heaven and earth will pass way, but God's words will never return to Him void of what He said He will do, Mark 24:35.

So if you are feeling like you are tired of waiting, everything in your life is turned upside down, or you have been suffering more losses than you have gains I encourage you to enter into God's rest. Do yourself a favor and be content with not being in control or understanding with your own earthly knowledge of what the outcome of your situation may be, remember as a child of the Most High "No weapon formed against you shall prosper". Isaiah 54:17 Instead spend some alone time with your heavenly father get to know Him better, read His word to find out what He is trying to show you and be of good courage and enter into His rest He will replenish you, restore you, rejuvenate your joy and graciously fill you with His perfect peace. Philippians 4:7

Is there something that is weighing you down in your mind? Have you decided to enter into His REST yet? Leave a comment down below and share how God's rest sustains you and keeps you in perfect peace when chaos is all around you! I would love to hear about your encouragement and ultimately be a blessing for someone else! :) God Bless!

4 Things your toddler probably does while you study

PictureMy big 3-year old enjoying a birthday cupcake!
Happy Tuesday readers!

Today I wanted to have a little fun and give you guys a couple of head-nods to agree with while you read and share a laugh or two. As you know kids are very energetic and usually their attention is being devoted to several different things, all at one time. Lol
Studying while you have the self-motivation and extra time??? Your toddler doesn't care, nor should they but dang give a mom a break! Lol :) My son will stand directly in front of me calling my name over and over right up to the second I make eye-to-eye contact with him. Just to give me a big grin or point to his lips asking for a big kiss. :) I found myself laughing out loud as I began to write this list, I wonder who can relate to any of these....

1. They are probably hanging off of the arm of the couch while doing a flip lying backwards.
-Yep, this is one of my son's favorites. He is tall for his age so he likes to hang upside down while he's playing and he'll flip his legs down. Then he'll run back around and repeat, all while screaming at the top of his lungs as if he's having the time of his life. Try studying organic chemistry while your kid is doing that!

2. Pouring their goldfish crackers or snacks out on the floor.
-You thought you poured the goldfish into the container because your toddler wanted to eat the crackers? No ma'am Pam! Your toddler wanted to see how they look after they've been poured on the floor. Of course. Lol

3.
Try to click into a different window while you're reading an article or sayyy maybe you're taking a short online quiz...?
-This one is self explanatory. You know when your kid gets close to the computer screen and says, "Whus dat? Huh, mommy? What isss dat?" trying to divert your undivided attention up at the computer screen. While they work under your nose quickly inching their little fingers closer and closer to your keyboard or mouse just in time to click the screen right out of what you were working on? Hahaa ..ya gotta love kids.

4. Or maybe they are asking for something that they really want over and over like the Cupcake Kid.
-I love this video it doesn't get old. This 3-year old is hilarious. Listen, Linda!

What are some of the things your kids like to do while you are studying? Feel free to let me know down below in the comments section! I'd love to hear about it. :)
