Hey ya'll!!! :)
Lately God has been dealing with me about my plans versus His will and wanting to hurry His process along. He has also been teaching me about how to peacefully deal with a really difficult subject- "LOSS". No one ever wants to lose or have something taken away from them. We aren't able to see days or years into the future we are only able to see what is happening as it unfolds before us in the present moment (unless you have the gift of interpreting dreams, but majority of us don't). We actually experience, taste, and live life in the present tense. The future as well as the past, occur only in our mind. As creatures of habit we tend to constantly think about what is next for us or how can we reach the next level of happiness or progression. Then there are the reoccurring thoughts about the past that plague our minds such as, "I could have done this better" or "if I would have made a certain decision... then my life would be different". When you are taking it upon yourself to worry about events passed or the things to come that is when you feel overwhelmed, stressed out, busy, or you eventually realize that you are stretching yourself too thin. Now, I don't want you to misunderstand me I absolutely believe in making plans and setting goals for yourself because I believe that you should have a vision for the direction in which you want your life to go. I also believe that your goals and plans should be bigger than what you yourself can attain with your own strength and capabilities. However, once you devise a plan you have to release it into God's perfect will. There are times when I feel as if I am on a roll, my plans are running smoothly, I'm working hard to intentionally "live my life on purpose" by putting in a little more effort each day than I did the day before and then, BAM! My world comes to a screeching hault and difficult situations arise that are totally unexpected, very inconvenient and temporarily disrupt your flow causing you to realize that you really aren't the one in control. Proverbs 19:21 tells us that, "Many are the plans in a person's heart, but it is the LORD's purpose that prevails." Period. This is where God's gift of rest sustains us. When we accept God's perfect and timely purpose above our own personal or selfish desires that is when our plans become those of The Lord's and come hell or high water we as His children can rest in peace, joy, and contentment. God's rest is a spiritual blessing that He gives to us graciously, he encourages us to partake in His rest because He cares for us and ultimately whatever you are battling is not your fight but His to win (because He ALWAYS WINS) if we choose to rest and let His plans prevail and do the work for us. It can be quite difficult to wait on God to fulfill His promise but it's only difficult because you are still conjuring up a plan in your mind on how to be the one to solve your problem. No, when you work God rests and when you rest God begins performing His mighty works. I can tell you confidently that God makes no mistakes and He never will. If you know by faith that God has given you an assignment to complete or you are believing in a specific promise from His word then you can rest confidently knowing that Heaven and earth will pass way, but God's words will never return to Him void of what He said He will do, Mark 24:35.
So if you are feeling like you are tired of waiting, everything in your life is turned upside down, or you have been suffering more losses than you have gains I encourage you to enter into God's rest. Do yourself a favor and be content with not being in control or understanding with your own earthly knowledge of what the outcome of your situation may be, remember as a child of the Most High "No weapon formed against you shall prosper". Isaiah 54:17 Instead spend some alone time with your heavenly father get to know Him better, read His word to find out what He is trying to show you and be of good courage and enter into His rest He will replenish you, restore you, rejuvenate your joy and graciously fill you with His perfect peace. Philippians 4:7
Is there something that is weighing you down in your mind? Have you decided to enter into His REST yet? Leave a comment down below and share how God's rest sustains you and keeps you in perfect peace when chaos is all around you! I would love to hear about your encouragement and ultimately be a blessing for someone else! :) God Bless!
