This past weekend I was invited to attend a vision board party and first, before your faces and eyebrows frown up out of sheer curiosity as to what a vision board is exactly let me say this... I had so much fun and really enjoyed the people I had the pleasure and opportunity to be around. The atmosphere of the party was so positive and encouraging, largely because the purpose of the "Vision board" is to envision positive goals for your life. The seafood added a great touch to the party especially since everybody who attended loves seafood.
About half of the ladies were mothers and I am quite sure there are many moms out there that are very familiar with the baby-sitter struggle. Lol. So the kids were also there at the event and they were welcomed so this party was kid-friendly. While the moms dreamed and decorated their poster boards the kids played with crayons, drew animals, scribbled on the magazine scraps and ate pizza.
Now what the heck is a vision board, you ask? Well a "vision" or "dream" board is a poster board in which you assemble clippings from magazines, printed images from online, newspapers, photographs, or any image you deem appropriate to represent goals you desire for your life. Now, just because you assemble a big pretty board doesn't necessarily mean that you don't have to put forth the work and effort into making the visions become a reality. The purpose of the board is to remind you everyday of your goals and what YOU WANT out of any aspect of your life, whether it is finance, fitness, fashion, relationships, anything that interests you. You have to take the first step in the direction leading you to fulfilling these goals. You don't have know each calculated piece to the puzzle and always remember we set plans for our lives but God is in the details.
"And the Lord answered me and said, Write the vision and engrave it so plainly upon tablets that everyone who passes may [be able to] read [it easily and quickly] as he hastens by. 3: For the vision is yet for an appointed time and it hastens to the end [fulfillment]; it will not deceive or disappoint. Though it tarry, wait [earnestly] for it, because it will surely come; it will not be behindhand on its appointed day." Habakkuk 2:2-3
Have you also made a vision board? I would love to hear about it in the comments section down below!
